This blog has been set up to document my journey as a textile designer/illustrator with the aim of taking my first graduate steps into the creative industry. As a third year student at UWIC, I know that in order to succeed in such a competitive market, professionalism is imperative. During my time at University, I have had the fortunate opportunity to work alongside companies such as Ikea and Melin Tregwynt furthering my ability to present myself well as a designer. In March of last year I was commissioned to produce a large textile wall hanging for Worthen Primary School in Shropshire with the help from Year 5/6 pupils. I independently taught groups of five at a time useful techniques within textiles such as heat transfer and tyvek. This experience furthered my professional skills and enabled me to seek different job avenues that my degree course offers.
